Axial thrust ball bearings
CMM Italy has been a leading manufacturer of thrust bearings since 1977, selling throughout Italy and internationally, including European countries such as Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Poland, and Belgium, and non-European countries such as Tunisia, Turkey, and Colombia.
In mechanics, a bearing is defined as a coupling device between a support and a pin that allows relative rotation with minimal friction. Indeed, regardless of whether the motion is rotary or linear, the end result will be a drastic reduction in friction between the two objects.
Thrust bearings: features and advantages
Thrust bearings, also called needle roller thrust bearings, are rolling bearings designed to accommodate high axial loads in one direction only. They are characterized by:
- - Rolling elements : cylindrical or tapered rollers that distribute the load over a large surface area, ensuring low wear and a long life.
- - Cages : The cage holds the rollers in place and ensures proper lubrication.
- - Inner and outer rings : the rings are made of special high-strength steels and are heat treated to increase their hardness and wear resistance.
- - Seals : Seals protect the bearing from dust, dirt and moisture.
Our company produces and sells axial thrust bearings (so called because they determine the axial movement, i.e. along the axis, of the bearing's inner ring) printed and turned with the possibility of various customizations, composed of separable elements: shaft washer, housing washer, ball cage.
Stamped thrust bearings are used for a variety of applications, such as:
- Hinges for window frames
- Swivel chairs
- Camera Tripods
- Revolving display cases
and for many other sectors of use when axial loads are subjected to difficult conditions they offer excellent performance.
All our axial thrust bearings meet the most stringent specifications for all applications and the choice of bearing type depends on the application in which it is used (they must therefore often be combined with a radial bearing.)
Our company is committed to producing bearings with no misalignment between the shaft and the washer and between the housing and the washer, as their performance depends on the distribution of the load across their entire circumference.
At CMM Italy, we also perform surface treatments on bearings with white zinc, tropicalized zinc, black zinc, etc. Unlike these, turned thrust bearings are obtained from a solid bar by turning and undergo a heat treatment for surface hardening.
Bearings are subjected to the turning process, which involves inserting the bearing into the lathe and removing the chips. Through the rotational motion of the workpiece and the use of a specific tool to remove the chips, the tool cuts into the material and eliminates the excess, creating the chip.
Our product catalog offers a wide range of bearings in a wide variety of sizes, models, and materials. At CMM Italy, we strive to meet our customers' needs by offering customized solutions tailored to their specific needs and applications.
